Junior F.O.O.D. Flatbreads!

This Saturday the Junior F.O.O.D. class became flatbread aficionados.  We started off the class by deepening our understanding of the origins of food by planting some lettuce and kale seeds.  We’ll see how they fare!  Flatbreads are one of those foods that fits everybody’s style because of their versatility, and we saw each Junior F.O.O.D. chef express themselves through their flatbread, as well as try new foods. These were not typical pizzas. We made our own barbecue sacue (so good!), carmelized onions, cooked sausage, sliced pepperoni, used pesto saved from the summer, and of course, cheese.  We also learned to mix, knead, rise, and stretch our doughs.
